"Nestled in the heart of Bedford Stuyvesent area of Brooklyn is this early 1900's mansion now serving as Akwaaba Bed n Breakfast. It is my second stay at an Akwaaba property, previously I visited their Philadelphia property - so obviously I'm a fan. It's a very personal vibe they greet you with great hospitality and help you as much as you need or want. The Breakfast is absolutely amazing. The one featured is Belgian waffles, an egg omelet and chicken sausage with a wonderful juice drink. The dining table allows guest to interact naturally. There was a wedding party there for an on property wedding and reception. Both the groom and the brides family were excited and Akwaaba staff attended to their needs without making my visit feel less than. There are only four special bedrooms available to rent so book early like 4-6 months minimum. I stayed in the Ashante bedroom very spacious with a well appointed attached bathroom. It wasn't as difficult as I thought with the parking and there are many local restaurants for dining out."

"I booked a 2 day stay at the Akwaaba mansion. so that I could do something special for my wife and I to celebrate our 5th year wedding anniversary. Our time there was so peaceful and cozy even though the room that we were staying in was massive. We stayed in the black memorabilia room. What made our anniversary more special was our Host Ms. Randy. She was so accommodating to our wants and needs. Especially when my wife explained to her , how she is on a special diet. At first when I first arrived, I foolishly judge a book by its cover. I nervously saw an antique mansion, but I soon find out that it is a Diamond or one of the Hidden gems. My wife and I agreed that we will definitely stay again."

"The Akwaaba Mansion was the perfect choice for my wife’s birthday. The history and architecture of the mansion are stunning. We absolutely loved the Ashanti Suite—it’s an exquisite room with incredible attention to detail. The Southern-style breakfast was fabulous, and the hospitality was unmatched. If you want a memorable, high-quality stay with genuine warmth, this is it. The innkeepers were amazing. Oh, and the cake from the local bakery was to die for! Probably the best carrot cake I've ever experienced."
