"So iconic! She is freedom herself. I loved visiting this so much. We took the ferry over and spent around two hours walking all around and inside the pedestal. It’s just so amazing to be next to after learning about it in school all my life. It’s so much bigger in person when your staring right up at it. We took some amazing photos to. It was perfect weather. Not to busy on a weekday in winter. Definitely buy tickets in advanced. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸"

"Pretty cool landmark to visit. Lots to learn. The statue itself requires either a pedestal or a pedestal & crown ticket to be entered. Check your tickets before joining the line. There is a long wait for the elevator as it can only carry 4 people at any one time. The walk up to the top of the pedestal is not too difficult (195 steps in total). You can’t bring bags or metal water bottles with you and you need quarters for the lockers outside."

"Amazing experience! One of the must visit places in NYC! If you want to visit the hat you have to buy tickets beforehand and they sell out fast so make sure you get them before you visit. There are a couple lemonade stands on the island but I wasn’t a fan of the lemonade. Make sure you have your own water and some snacks to spend time on the island. The front of the statue gets busy from people taking pictures so it might take a while for your turn to come so plan accordingly. Ferry line gets long too so it might take a couple of ferries for you to get to and from the island. Beware of scam ticket sellers. Buy the tickets either online on the official website or the booths before the boarding dock. You will have to go through security as well. The museum is a must visit too! Don’t skip by it. It’s definitely worth checking out!"

    Local Tips

    • To fully experience the Statue of Liberty, tickets either for the pedestal or the pedestal and crown access should be purchased well in advance, as they sell out quickly.
    • Be prepared for airport-style security checks before boarding the ferry and remember that large bags or metal water bottles are not permitted inside the statue; small lockers are available for quarters near the entrance.
    • Consider visiting on a weekday, especially outside of peak seasons, for a more relaxed experience with potentially fewer crowds, which can significantly reduce ferry wait times and queues for photos.
